Using an AI coach

In 2 weeks I am due to start a race that I feel grossly under prepared for. The Dragon's Back Race in Wales.

My usual preparation for long races (not that I have ever taken part in a 6 day race) is to make sure I run 4-5 times a week with at least one long run. Unfortunately over the last 2 weeks I have just felt exhausted and so not done much running. I was waking up with aching legs and felt pretty pathetic. Perhaps I was fighting something, perhaps pre-race nerves, who knows.

Anyway, on Improval this is my main Goal that I have listed at the moment. Last week I decided it might be fun to use the AI Improval Coach to have a coaching session on my Goal. I have to say it was suprisingly helpful.

The system first looks at the Goal, any linked Habits, and any Updates that the user has entered. I first added an update into how I was feeling:

This is then how the Improval Coach started the conversation:

I found this really helpful. Simple, positive strategies and even though part of it felt a bit "weird" chatting to an AI it felt really personal to me and my Goal.

I wanted to try and get a bit more specific about the Crib Goch aspect that is terrifying me 🙀 so I asked about this.

The response was helpful. Some of this I have already done but always nice to have a reminder.

This had been really useful so I tried to close it down. With hindsight I was a bit to subtle for an AI interaction and so they came back with more advice.

Still good stuff though but this time I brought things to a close a bit more succesfully.

I will certainly return for more Coaching on this and other issues in the next few weeks.

We would love any feedback and thoughts.
